Description
A wonderful classic Brazil. This naturally processed coffee has a lovely full body which feels like a hug in your mouth. A nicely balanced cup with plenty of chocolate and nutty notes coming through.
Veloso Green Coffee is a long‑established producer in Brazil’s Cerrado Mineiro region, with more than five decades of family involvement shaping its approach to cultivation and export. The company began in 1971 under Paulo Veloso, whose focus on disciplined agronomy and quality laid the foundations for its later expansion into international markets. Today, three generations remain active in the business, maintaining the same commitment to reliability and heritage that defined its early years.
The group manages six farms across distinct Cerrado Mineiro terroirs, each positioned at roughly one thousand metres of elevation and planted exclusively with Arabica. These estates combine traditional cultivars such as Acaiá, Bourbon, and CatuaĂ with more recent selections including CatucaĂ, AcauĂŁ, Topázio, and IPR/IAC varieties. Processing across the portfolio is centred on natural and pulped natural methods, selected according to each farm’s characteristics and environmental conditions.
Veloso supports this production with a broad environmental programme that includes more than two thousand five hundred hectares of preserved native forest and an active reforestation plan covering over seven hundred hectares. Their water‑reuse infrastructure conserves approximately 5.6 million litres, reflecting a long‑term commitment to reducing environmental impact while maintaining large‑scale agricultural operations. These combined measures support both biodiversity and soil resilience across their estates.

This is a wonderful, nutty coffee. Just tried my first cup and went back for a second! Fab stuff, well played on a great roast!

A few weeks ago this was my very first purchase of coffee from the Happy Barista and I was overwhelmed with the obvious freshness of the beans. *The roast date and shelf life is written on the bag.
The chocolate and nuttyness hits you as soon as the bag is opened and lingers in the mouth long after the last sip. Absolutely gorgeous coffee.
